What to expect on a Sunday

• Safe and secure electronic check-in

We utilize a check-in and pick-up system at River Church with matching ID stickers that link you with your child. Simply find one of the Kids Check-in kiosks down our main hallway to begin the process of checking in your child. A volunteer will be available to help!

0-3 year olds classes start as each Sunday service begins, either 9 AM or 10:45 AM.

Kids in Pre-K through 5th grade are invited to join you at the beginning of a service during our opening time of worship. Kids in these classes are then dismissed to their Splash Kids Ministry class – the volunteer teachers for each class will be waiting in the lobby to help guide kids to their classes!

Picking up kids

Only an adult with a matching ID sticker can pick up your child. If your child needs you while you are in the main worship service, one of our volunteers will text you from the number you provided at check-in.

Who is teaching the kids?

Our Splash Kids Ministry volunteers are background checked and safety trained before they ever step into a classroom. We make sure volunteers love Jesus and are skilled with children, and they work in teams to lead each kids class.

Our Kids Ministry Director is Lacee Hogg. Lacee is married to David, and they have 2 children. Lacee has worked in children’s ministry for many years in different church contexts, and brings a vision and desire to see the lives of children at River Church become saturated with the Word of God.

Your Child’s Safety Matters

Every Splash Kids volunteer is carefully screened and trained before serving.

We prioritize safety through:

• Secure child check-in and check-out
• Matching parent/child security tags
• Background checks for every volunteer
• Classroom safety procedures
• Locked children’s wing during services
• Security team monitoring the building throughout the morning

Kids Classes Offered at Both Sunday Services

On Sunday mornings we have five available classes for children depending on their age:

• Nursery (Birth – 1 year old)
• 2 – 3 years old
• 4 – 5 years old
• first through third grade
• fourth through sixth grade

Our classrooms are intentionally staffed, typically with two trained volunteers per class, allowing for strong relationships and attentive care. There is an average ratio of 1 volunteer to every 6 kids.

What we teach

At Splash Kids, every lesson points children to Jesus through the whole story of Scripture. We use The Gospel Project as our current curriculum, a three-year journey through the Bible that helps children see how every part of God’s Word points to Christ. Lessons are tailored to each age group through engaging Bible teaching, discussion, activities, worship, and Scripture memory.

We don’t simply teach your kids moral lessons – we teach them Jesus. He is not implied – He is central. We explain the gospel in a way that makes sense to each age.
