Our Story and Dream

In 2006, River Church was launched to reach the next generations in Norman. Our vision is to develop a church community that loves and obeys Jesus Christ as fully as possible, grows into the image of Christ as fully as possible, and joins Him in discipling our members, our community and the nations of the earth as fully as possible.

In short, our heart is to develop healthy people in healthy community on intentional mission. The only way we can do this is by depending on Jesus Christ as fully as possible. This happens by gathering together in large community on Sunday mornings, in smaller gatherings with our Community Groups, and in close relationships where we can disciple one another (called D-Groups).

Our services have a contemporary and relaxed feel, as we emphasize gathering together in authentic community. In our services and community groups we read and teach the Bible – God’s Word – as the authority for our lives.

River Church is led by a team of elders, who act as shepherds and pastors to lead, equip, and serve our church. We have a team of staff and amazing volunteers who help move our mission forward.
