Message Notes

Lord’s Supper

2 Samuel 9, Ephesians 2:1-10

Grace is the rich activity of God through Christ toward unworthy, stubborn, apathetic, rebellious men and women whereby He expresses His inexhaustible love, forgiveness of their sins, adoption of them as His heirs and acceptance of them into His earthly church and into an eternity of joy.

2 Samuel 9:1-13

Benefits of the grace of God

Our sins are forgiven

Ephesians 1:7–8

7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

8which He lavished on us.

We are adopted as sons of God

Ephesians 1:5

5He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

The Holy Spirit has been given to us

Ephesians 1:13–14

13In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

We are included into the people of God, the church

Ephesians 2:19

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,

We are given eternal life and an eternal inheritance

Ephesians 1:11–12

11In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

12so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
