Partner with River Church for our Give Together capital campaign!

Give Together is River’s effort to work together to raise money to purchase the building and property that has been our church meeting place for the past several years.  Berry Road Baptist Church is no longer meeting as a fellowship.  The trustees of Berry Road Baptist Church and River Church’s elders reached a purchase agreement for the building and property for the price of $500,000.  On October 18, 2020, the members of River Church voted to move forward with this purchase.  The initial step in this purchase is that we will be raising $100,000 by February 2020.  And we invite everyone to prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to help us reach this goal.  We are trusting God for His provision and are excited to see Him move!

Give Together will allow River to continue to live out our Core Values (Knowing Jesus, Focusing Outward, Developing Relationships, and Serving Together) with the Berry Road building as a central hub for our church.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the building tie into River’s mission and strategy?

Owning the building will allow River to continue to implement the various aspects of our values: Knowing Jesus – we will have a place to meet for Sunday Celebration service as well as throughout the week.  Focusing Outward – we can continue to reach out to the neighborhood around River.  Developing Relationships – the building will be available for community groups, women’s events, men’s events, college student small groups, and much more.  Serving Together – there will be plenty of work to do on the building for renovation and upkeep that our members can work together to accomplish.

What if we raise more than $100,000 in our initial Give Together journey?

We are praying for more than $100,000 and are excited to see God provide!  If he does so, we will set some money aside for renovation and upkeep on the building.  If there is a great outpouring from God’s people, we will be able to take out a smaller loan and that will allow us greater financial flexibility going forward.

How was the price of the building determined?

The building purchase price was negotiated between River’s elders and the trustees of Berry Road Baptist Church.  It was determined that this was a fair price, taking into consideration that the building is worth more than $500,000 if sold on the open market and that River has already invested some money into the building for some major renovations on the South half of the building in the fellowship hall, bathrooms, and classrooms.

Do I need to be a member of River to give?

No, in fact, we encourage those who attend River but aren’t members yet to prayerfully consider participating in Give Together with a sacrificial gift. Additionally, if you have friends or family that may be interested in participating in Give Together, feel free to share this opportunity with them.

What Do We Need?

Together we actively demonstrate and proclaim the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ.
